The Journey
About the Zagreb to Dubrovnik Route
The journey from Zagreb to Dubrovnik is the longest — and arguably the most spectacular — transfer route in Croatia. After crossing the green hills of central Croatia, the A1 motorway climbs through the Velebit mountains and then unrolls the entire Dalmatian coast before you, finishing with the crossing of the striking Pelješac Bridge and the dramatic coastal approach to Dubrovnik itself.
With a private door-to-door transfer, the distance becomes part of the holiday rather than an obstacle: you are collected at your Zagreb address at the time you choose, travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with breaks whenever you wish, and are dropped as close to your Dubrovnik accommodation as vehicles can reach — with no luggage hauling, connections or timetables to worry about.

Popular Stops on This Route
Plitvice Lakes
Roughly two hours from Zagreb, the UNESCO-listed lakes and waterfalls make a superb sightseeing stop of three to four hours before continuing south.
Zadar or Split
Break the journey with lunch on Zadar's Roman forum or a stroll through Diocletian's Palace in Split — both lie conveniently along the route.
Ston
Just before Dubrovnik, the little town of Ston is famous for Europe's longest fortress walls and some of the Adriatic's best oysters — a perfect final stop.
Any stop can be added to your transfer — simply mention your wishes in the booking form and your fixed quote will include them.
Why Go Private
Private Transfer vs. Bus & Train
By bus, Zagreb to Dubrovnik typically takes 9 to 11 hours with intermediate stops, and there is no direct railway line to Dubrovnik at all. Flying is fast but airport procedures, transfers on both ends and luggage limits eat most of the saved time — and you miss the most beautiful road in Croatia.
A private transfer turns those hours into comfortable, flexible travel time: door-to-door service, a vehicle to yourselves, child seats on request, room for all your luggage and a price per vehicle rather than per person, which for families and small groups is often the most economical premium option.
