The Journey
About the Zagreb to Rovinj Route
The drive from Zagreb to Rovinj crosses the whole of northern Croatia in under three hours: down through the forested hills of Gorski Kotar, past glimpses of the Kvarner bay, through the Učka tunnel and out into the rolling vineyards and hilltop villages of Istria, finishing at the most romantic town on the Adriatic.
With a private door-to-door transfer you are collected anywhere in Zagreb and dropped as close to Rovinj's pedestrianised old town as vehicles can reach — or directly at your hotel or resort along the coast. The route also lends itself beautifully to stops, from Habsburg-era Opatija to the truffle country of inland Istria.

The grande dame of the Adriatic, with its seafront Lungomare promenade and Austro-Hungarian villas, sits just off the route before the Učka tunnel.
Motovun or Grožnjan
Istria's famous hilltop towns — one crowned by medieval walls above the Mirna valley, the other an artists' village — are short, unforgettable detours.
Poreč
The Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site of glittering Byzantine mosaics, lies a short hop up the coast from Rovinj.
Any stop can be added to your transfer — simply mention your wishes in the booking form and your fixed quote will include them.
Why Go Private
Private Transfer vs. Bus & Train
Bus connections from Zagreb to Rovinj take 4 to 6 hours, often with a change in Pula or Rijeka, and there is no practical rail option. With children, luggage or beach gear, the journey becomes a chore before the holiday begins.
A private transfer takes under three hours door to door, on your schedule, with stops in Opatija or Motovun if you wish — so the holiday effectively starts the moment you close the car door in Zagreb.
